If you’re interested, the Mentorship Program covers the time period between November and June.
What are the commitments?
Mentors are required to meet with their assigned mentee at least once per quarter (every three months). Additionally, throughout the year, there will be 3 ISPE organized events requiring attendance by both the mentor and mentee, one of which will be the opening ceremony. We also ask that mentors communicate with mentees (such as through emails) to answer any questions they may have about the industry.
What else can I do?
Previous mentors have offered to meet with mentees outside of the required settings, such as coffee or lunch near UCSD or at the mentor's workplace. Additionally, mentors have invited their undergraduate mentees to presentations, committee meetings, shadowing, lab tours, office tours, and more. Though this is optional, these additional opportunities are sometimes the most helpful to our undergraduates, and we hope you will extend the opportunities to our current program as well.
